Inspired by expressionism, graphic novels, comic books and pop surrealism. Painted in acrylic on wood, 30 x 40 x 0.5 cm. Portrait Paintings
Lily Garden - Original Acrylic Portrait Painting on CanvasAn original surreal portrait painting on stretched canvas, using acrylic paints. A brown haired woman wearing textured blue is in a garden or park with a lily pond behind her and trees and bushes behind. For my portraits I like to work stream-of-conciousness, a surrealist technique to connect more with the subconscious. I like to see where an artwork goes and develops rather than rigidly controlling the outcome. I find this a surprising and intuitive way to work, creating mystery and narrative, often like a story untold, with characters in a scene. This piece is 61 x 76 cm on stretched canvas, so is personal preference to frame or can be hung directly on the wall. (I do not paint the sides) It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and will be sent well wrapped in a large strong box for safe transport. For Island delivery please get in touch regarding delivery or collection. For international delivery please get in touch or visit Saatchi Art.com/KittyCooper Thank you! Kitty

Mottistone - Original Acrylic Landscape Painting on CanvasOriginal contemporary impressionist landscape painting in acrylic paint on stretched canvas. The artwork measures 61 x 76 x 1.5 cm. Inspired by Parkhurst Forest on the Isle of Wight where I live. I love the English countryside and the magical beauty of the forest, especially in the bright light of summer. I begin by blocking in the main shapes and then refining slowly with smaller and smaller brushes, finishing with a size 1 for the little details. I try to capture the light, mystery and beauty of nature. I'm fascinated by trees and woodlands, so they feature regularly in my landscape paintings. As I do not paint the edges, you may wish to frame this painting but being on stretched canvas it can hang automatically on the wall. Painted on Arta Studio 17mm Cotton Stretched Canvas, 380 gsm canvas stretched over a pine wood frame, universally primed, and comes with tension wedges for archival quality. Securely wrapped in two layers of bubble wrap, encased in a sturdy recycled cardboard ...
