Fire - Original Acrylic Gouache Painting on Panel

An original surreal portrait painting on cradled wood panel with acrylic gouache.

A brown haired woman wearing a textured blue jacket and blouse, is in a rocky nighttime landscape with fires blazing behind her, mountains and a cave in the background and she wears a badge with a campfire on it.

For my portraits I like to work stream-of-consciousness, a surrealist technique to connect more with the subconscious. I like to see where an artwork goes and develops rather than rigidly controlling the outcome. I find this a surprising and intuitive way to work, creating mystery and narrative, often like a story untold, with characters in a scene.

This piece is 30.6 x 40.6 cm on cradled wood panel, so is personal preference to frame or can be hung directly on the wall.
(I do not paint the sides)

It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and will be sent well wrapped in a strong box for safe transport.
